Midwestern states like Ohio, Missouri, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin aren’t always known for big mountains and steep slopes, but you don’t need any of those for snow tubing. Many of the ski and snowboard resorts dotting the map here also make for terrific snow tubing vacations.

Boston Mills Brandywine, Ohio

Another top spot for tubing in Ohio is Boston Mills Brandywine. These sister resorts share some amazing snow and amenities and have so much to offer for all types of snow-seekers. It’s a well-known family resort with an inviting atmosphere. 

Here, you’ll find Polar Blast, which is the largest tubing park in Northeast Ohio. It’s a family-friendly activity for kids and adults. A two-lane conveyor belt services the tubing area to get tubers back up the mountain.  

Setting up a large group tubing experience here is a great way to make sure everyone in the family gets their turn. You need to schedule at least 72 hours in advance but will get a group discount if you do.

Hidden Valley, Missouri

Hidden Valley is the largest resort in Missouri and offers a long season. This means you can schedule your snow tubing vacation any time of the winter and still have plenty of snow. 

The Polar Plunge Tubing Park here is a truly unforgettable experience. This massive tubing area has two walk-on conveyor belts, as well as a fully stocked snack bar with food and beverages. The party is always rolling at Polar Plunge. 

There is also an outdoor firepit in the Tubing Base where anyone can watch the fun without purchasing a ticket.

Mad River Mountain, Ohio

If you’re looking for a more than memorable tubing thrill, Mad River Mountain is the place. The bubly Tubing Park has lanes that are 1,000 feet long, making it an unreal ride that everyone in the family can enjoy. 

When you’re not tubing down the mountain, grab the kids and come warm up with hot chocolate and snacks nearby. The Park provides tubes for everyone and two large conveyor belts that bring you back to the top of the lanes for another endless slide. 

Tickets for the Tubing Park are for 2-hour sessions and often sell out. Be sure to book ahead of time during the holidays and other busy periods.

Paoli Peaks, Indiana

Conveniently located in Southern Indiana, Paoli Peaks is easy to access from the Midwest, as well as the Southern United States. It’s an excellent winter getaway with great slopes but also plenty of leading off-mountain amenities. 

The Arctic Blast Tubing Park features ten lanes that are each 700 feet in length. That’s big enough for the entire family to race side-by-side for bragging rights. The tubing area at Paoli Peaks also has comfortable indoor and outdoor seating areas. 

When you’re done with the snow, be sure to check out the 45,000-square-foot day lodge with restaurants, sports stores, and rental shops.

Snow Creek, Missouri

Snow Creek is another Missouri-based winter resort with a ton of kid-friendly activities. It boasts amazing snowmaking and night skiing, providing ample opportunity for winter lovers to play any time of day or year. 

The Tornado Alley Tube Park at Snow Creek is where all the fun begins. The lanes are serviced by a 460-foot conveyor belt, so the family can spin laps during a 2-hour tubing session.

There is also a bonfire pit near the tube park, so it’s easy to stay warm or trade stories with friends and family after or in-between your tubing session.

Wilmot, Wisconsin

Wilmot makes for the perfect weekend getaway for people from both Chicago and Milwaukee. It’s a favorite resort for families in this area, as well as visitors braving the blowing Midwestern winters. 

The Snow Tubing Area is located half a mile south of the main ski and snowboard entrance. There are two surface conveyor lifts to take riders back uphill and 22 lanes that are all over 1,000 feet long. 

Once you are done sliding down the snow, the tubing lodge has snacks and warm drinks and is the perfect viewpoint to watch other tubers from the deck.
